James T. Gendreauhis brings with him 2 decades of experience in the commercial real estate industry starting in the 1990’s, working with tenants such as Walgreen Company, CVS, Publix, Target, Lowe’s, Home Depot and others. He began his career working as a flight instructor and charter pilot at Clinton County Airport while also a student at Plattsburgh State University in Plattsburgh, NY.
His first real estate position was both leasing agent & company pilot for Arvay Group.
In 1995, Mr. Gendreau was hired by The Sofran Group, a Montreal-based retail developer/manager, where he was primarily responsible for strip center leasing and outparcel sales. He later served as a partner and site acquisitions director. After 10 years with Sofran, Gendreau joined a Winter Park, Florida retail developer as a partner primarily responsible for site acquisitions and new development.
Mr. Gendreau started Tailwinds Development, LLC in late 2009 followed by Tailwinds Management, LLC in 2010. In the spring of 2012, Tailwinds Development aligned with Quadrant Properties. . Gendreau continues to secure sites for development in Florida under the Tailwinds and Quadrant banners while still maintaining his Tailwinds brokerage and management company.
A Florida licensed Real Estate Broker, Mr. Gendreau is an active member of the International Council of Shopping Centers. He also served on active duty in the United States Air Force.
